The effectiveness of implanted progestogen only contraceptives is not affected by Metronidazole. The hormone in Implanon is a progestogen called Etonogestrel.

Can I take Ibuprofen with Co-codomol
Ibuprofen and Co-codamol can be taken together safely. The adult dose of Ibuprofen is 400mg three times aday after food. The adult dose of Co-codamol is two tablets up to four times a day.

Does lactulose solution cause weight gain because when I take it it's very sweet.
Lactulose is a semi-synthetic sugar which is not absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract. It does taste very sweet, but as it is not absorbed from the food tubes, it does not cause weight gain.

I would suggest trying Aqueous cream as the base. This will then allow you to wash it out with shampoo as normal, and should not feel as waxy. I have checked with a 'specials' manufacturer and they have told me that this is fairly straight forward to make up. Speak to your Doctor, and I am sure they will sort out a prescription for you.

I am going to Hong Kong in July for a week, do I need to take Malaria tablets?
At present (Up until October 2006) the recommendation is that there is very low risk of Malaria in Hong Kong so no Anti malarial tablets need to be taken. However care should be taken to avoid being bitten by mosquito's, Use a good insect repellent (see travel section on our website), wear trousers and long sleeved clothing after dusk and possibly sleep under a mosquito net. This advice is only valid upto October 2006, as the recommendations are regularly updated.

Please can you tell me what I can use to treat my 5 year old boys feet they are itchy and the skin is really dry and flakes off and sometimes it cracks, this happens to him every summer but not in the winter?
We stock a number of products which could be suitable e.g. E45 Itch Cream, E45 Junior moisturising cream or Eurax cream. For further information if you look at the skin and hair department then into dry skin, on the website. If this happens regularly I would recommend that you take your son to see his G.P. to check there is no other reason for him suffering from the dry skin, he may be able to prescribe im something which would be free of charge as he is under 16. It is also worth ensuring that he wears cotton socks and leather or canvas shoes which allow the foot to breathe as much as possible.
