| Yes, the chemist was correct. It does seem madness, and unfair, but the chemist did the correct thing. You might find a prepayment certificate useful if you get more than 5 items in 4 months. It is like a 'season ticket', and you pay about £35 for 4 months or £100 for the year. All prescriptions are covered. |

| You can take 400mg of Ibuprofen up to three times a day, but it is best after food. You can also take Paracetamol in the same day, two 500mg tablets up to four times a day, leaving four to six hours between doses. Do not use other painkillers at the same time, and be aware that Paracatamol is sometime present in other products, such as those for colds. |

| Co-codamol contains two ingredients. Codeine is an opiod analgesic. Opioids are well know to have an addictive effect if used regularly. The higher the codeine content and the greater the frequency of taking them can increase the chances of becoming addicted to them. If you are worried taht someone might be overusing co-codamol, I would recommended that they consult their GP as soon as possible. |

| You are only required to pay once. The £7.10 levy is for one prescription item, irrespective of number of tablets the doctor has ordered. If the doctort ordered 32 and you were supplied with 16 of the 32, you should not need to pay again, as the pharmacy 'owed' these to you. |

| You are correct. Piriton comes as in a tablet and syrup form. I cannot find Piriject listed. Piriton contains chlorphenamine maleate, and a generic version exists as a 10mg/ml strength, in a 1ml amp. It is a prescription only medicine. |
